Succulents are plants with thick fleshy body parts that grow well in warm dry conditions and semiarid regions. They have developed their system to store up water in their leaves, roots, or stems and can hold up for months without rainfalls. Most of the succulents have green leaves, some kinds have shades of red, blue, purple, pink, and orange coloration. One distinguishing feature they have is the compact body part. Some succulent plants seem to be the most popular like the aloe vera, jade plant, etc. As I have stated earlier, Succulents have, fleshy leaves that grow in a rosette shape, giving the plant a spiky look,  some have spiky, oval, smooth, or strappy-shaped leaves while some have tiny ‘babies’ growing along with their body parts. You can plant and term these Succulents but indoors or outdoors they have their specifications for each. These plants are mostly found in arid and semiarid climates and have developed unusually thick and fleshy roots, stems, and leaves with water retaining tissue that helps them to store water for long periods and survive in very dry conditions, they’re usually considered to be drought resistant plants and can survive in very extreme conditions. This plant is suitable for almost all kinds of weather. Taking the weather of greater Houston and Texas into consideration you would know that this environment is fit for such plants to strive and survive both as outdoor landscape and indoor house plants in Houston, Texas. Some predominant Succulents within the Houston area are cacti, Echeveria Afterglow, Pencil Cactus, Jade Plants, Barrel Cactus, Trichocereus Pachanoi or San Pedro Cactus, Achuma Cactus, Peruvian Torch, Aloe Vera, Prickly Pear Cactus, etc.
